Calling Mississippi Farmers!
The Mississippi Farm to Cafeteria Conference is almost here, and NCAT invites farmers to a special pre-conference event.
The evening before the conference, October 11th, from 4 to 7 p.m., NCAT is hosting a pre-conference mini-workshop and reception for farmers. The event, held at Foot Print Farms, 4945 South Drive, Jackson, MS 39209, will start with the mini-workshop, “Record-keeping for Food Safety.” This is designed to give farmers practical tools that will improve farm food safety practices. Whether you shudder when you hear the word “record-keeping” or you are an Excel spreadsheet wizard, come and learn about food safety planning and record-keeping strategies from the presenters and from each other.
Following the mini-workshop will be a reception with dinner provided and no-host cocktails. You can take this opportunity to meet and greet with other farmers, share ideas, and simply kick back and enjoy each other’s company.
This event is free, however space is limited and registration is required. Please visit www.ncat.org/events to reserve your spot in our pre-conference event.
