The summit will take stock of damage done to date by the Texas drought, provide a forum for sharing lessons learned, and connect farmers and ranchers with grants, low-interest loans, and other disaster-related services and assistance. Newly-elected Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller will speak.
The day-long summit is sponsored by Farm Aid, in partnership with the National Center for Appropriate Technology, Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, and Sustainable Food Center. National experts from Rural Advancement Foundation International and Farmers’ Legal Action Group will facilitate the discussion.
A $25 registration fee is requested, but will be waived for those in need. For more information or to register, please go to www.tofga.org.
