Gulf States Director Lends Farming Expertise

 

Rockiell Woods, regional director of NCAT’s Gulf states office, offered farming expertise to a group of farmers attending a recent Mississippi Association of Cooperatives Regional Field Day.

Held Sept. 28 at the South Rankin County Farmers Association, Woods spoke on issues of interest to both beginning and advanced farmers, along with an overview of services and expertise offered by the Gulf States office. Items of particular interest included business planning and mentoring new farmers.

Woods has plenty of experience to offer. He served as the regional extension coordinator serving the Mississippi Delta for Alcorn State University prior to joining NCAT.  A fourth generation soybean farmer in the Mississippi Delta, he holds a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness management and a masters degree in agriculture economics from Alcorn State.
