Action Day for LIHEAP

January 8 will be a National Action Day for LIHEAP. The National Fuel Funds Network (NFFN), the event organizer, is encouraging its members and allies to come to Washington, D.C., to participate in a coordinated day of educating Congress and the White House about the need for stable LIHEAP funding. The current continuing resolution to operate the government runs out on January 11, and Congress will be working that week to finish FY 2003 funding. The Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to mark up a major spending bill that will include LIHEAP and almost all other domestic spending for FY 2003.
