MINNESOTA BULK FUEL DISCOUNTS

• Minnesota has obtained price discounts, waivers of security deposits, late payment and delivery fees from over 100 oil and propane dealers since 1992.

• Beginning in FY 98, Minnesota’s LIHEAP has been assured of an annual $5 million cash advance from the state that will allow it to launch a summer pre-purchase program for fuel oil and propane customers, thus assuring that thousands of low-income Minnesotans who heat with bulk fuels will get a discount.
