Consider:
Are there prefabricated wall panels manufactured close enough to the site to make
transportation efficient?
Is a structural insulated panel an effective choice for the project? SIPS provide
structural strength, insulation and sheathing all in one product. Are insulation efficiency and sound
attenuation particular priorities for the project?
For wood-framed walls:
Can advanced framing techniques be
used? Will wider stud spacing of 24" necessitate the use of thicker sheathing
material? Will it unacceptably limit the choice of siding materials?
Where can engineered wood products be substituted for large dimensional lumber to achieve
a reduction in the size of tree harvested to produce structural materials?
