The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), in partnership with Cornell University’s Small Farms Program and the Canandaigua VA Medical Center’s Whole Health Program, is now accepting applications from military veterans who want to attend our week-long Armed to Farm (ATF) 2.0 training from October 21-25, 2019. ATF 2.0 is open to veterans and their partners who have completed the Armed to Farm 1.0 training and who are looking for more in-depth and enterprise-specific education on managing a profitable small-scale farm.
Attendees must also be enrolled in a New York State Veteran Affairs (VA) medical center (VISN2 Region). This includes the Canandaigua, Bath and other New York State VA medical facilities. Military veterans living in and around New York, who are enrolled, or who are willing to enroll, in the New York State facilities are welcome to apply.
The event is free for those chosen to attend; lodging at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront, transportation to local farms and most meals will be provided. Participants must pay their own travel costs to and from the event.
